Lottie Linley, BSc (Hons), Msc, joined wca in 2024. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Bath and a first-class Master’s degree in Ecotoxicology from Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität (RPTU) Kaiserslautern-Landau, Germany.

Lottie specialises in ecotoxicology, with experience in standardised testing, effect and exposure modelling of chemicals, particularly focusing on plant protection products and microplastics. She has also contributed to EU Horizon projects, gaining valuable insights into European regulatory frameworks and environmental research standards. Previously, at Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) in Belgium, Lottie worked on developing methodologies to assess the impact of microplastics on copepods, specifically focusing on the effect on filtration rate and oxygen consumption at different salinities and temperatures.

At wca, Lottie works primarily on ecotoxicological projects, including literature searching and reviewing, as well as working on ERA (Environmental Risk Assessment) and IUCLID entries. Furthermore, Lottie works with modelling software in metal risk assessments, read-across approaches and Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSARs).
