It has been an extremely busy two days for the wca team at the SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting in Vienna. As well as numerous pre-arranged and ad-hoc meetings with clients and partners, we have also been ensuring we maintain our scientific profile through numerous platform and poster presentations.

On Tuesday, Lucy presented outcome of our work on the suitability of EU Environmental Quality Standards (EQS) that consider the ecotoxicity and prevalence of transformation products. Her platform was part of the well-attended session on Pharmaceuticals in the Environment, co-chaired by Dean. As hoped, this work has raised the profile of the issue of metabolites and transformation products in water quality standard derivation, particularly for pharmaceuticals, and we were very pleased to subsequently discuss this issue with a representative from ECHA, who will be responsible for deriving EU EQS values in the future.

Simultaneously, Adam chaired a session focusing on persistence and mobility, topics that have captured significant attention due to the new requirements for mobility assessment under the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) regulation.
