Adam, Graham, and Olivia recently presented at a short workshop organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Environmental Chemistry Group on Evaluating the Reliability and Relevance of Environmental Exposure Data. The workshop provided an introduction to the Criteria for Reporting and Evaluating Exposure Datasets (CREED) approach, which was the outcome of a SETAC Technical Workshop. The meeting also provided an opportunity for researchers who had already applied CREED in their work to share their experiences of the approach, and to raise issues about any limitations that they had identified. The workshop included presentations from a number of the original contributors to CREED covering the approach itself and examples of its application, as well as perspectives of CREED from an academic and an environmental regulator. An important part of the workshop were the discussion sessions where participants were able to ask questions, share experiences, and make recommendations about areas of uncertainty, potential problems, and aspects of CREED that could be refined or adapted to include other aspects. A report on the workshop will be published in the RSC Environmental Chemistry Bulletin later this year and a brief meeting note summary is available here.
