Adam has recently published a comment on a paper addressing the lack of evidence for pyridine being the cause of a mass mortality event which occurred off the North East coast of England in late 2021 affecting crabs and lobsters. The comment focused on whether the use of formalised evaluations of the relevance and reliability of the data and methods used in environmental risk assessments of chemicals could have provided greater transparency and accountability within the risk assessment process. The comment recommended the use of the Criteria for Reporting and Evaluating Ecotoxicity Data (CRED), and Criteria for Reporting and Evaluating Exposure Datasets (CREED). Adam, Graham, and Iain were all closely involved in the development of the CREED approach.
