Mark Crane, PhD is an environmental toxicologist with over 25 years of experience in environmental consultancy and academia. He is a member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry, the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management, and the Institute of Leadership and Management, and is an Honorary Research Fellow of the University of London. He has served on the Veterinary Products Committee, the Environmental Panel of the Advisory Committee on Pesticides, and SETAC Europe Council.

Mark has particular technical expertise in the environmental aspects of REACH; deterministic and probabilistic modelling of chemical risks to wildlife; setting Environmental Quality Standards for freshwaters, marine waters, sediments and soils; Direct Toxicity Assessment of discharges to surface waters, groundwater and soils, and interpretation of ecotoxicity data; development of environmental management frameworks; and workshop organisation and facilitation. Mark has published over 130 peer reviewed articles and chapters and has co-edited five books on environmental hazard and risk assessment.
