wca have a long history of involvement with, and support for, the Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Our staff have, over the years, attended and presented our work at SETAC conference in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. We are sustaining members of SETAC Europe, and pride ourselves on getting involved as possible in the scientific programme of SETAC Europe conferences, as well as having a presence in the exhibition hall.
We are looking forward to presenting our work at SETAC-Europe 2019 in Helsinki this May.
We will be presenting on three topics in the ‘Fate and Effects of Metals’ session on 27th-28th May:
Olivia Tran will be presenting her work on the ‘Contribution of zinc from household and personal care products to wastewater’ on Monday 27th May;
Iain Wilson will be asking ‘Correcting for metal bioavailability in European freshwaters: where do the data come from to make this happen?’ on Tuesday 28th May; and
Adam Peters will be discussing the ‘Validation of Bio-met for the site specific bioavailability normalisation of EQS for copper, nickel, and zinc’, also on Tuesday 28th May.
Ed Stutt will also be presenting his work on ‘Improving risk assessment of contaminants in material spread to land’ in the Soil Ecotoxicity and ERA session on Wednesday 29th May.
Dean Leverett will be co-chairing the Session, ‘Wastewater Effluents: How Research Can Improve Risk Assessment and Regulation’, on Wednesday 29th May, with Mirco Bundschuh of Landau University and Mathijs Smit of Shell.
Olivia Tran will present work on the ‘Derivation of total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) water quality standards using probabilistic approaches’ on Wednesday 29th May; and.
Dean Leverett will be show some recent work on ‘The ecotoxicity of Emamectin Benzoate to benthic marine organisms’ on Thursday 30th May.
The full abstracts for all of these presentations are available here.
If you are interested in any of these subject areas and wish to discuss the work that will be presented with the authors, please do get in touch.
We will, of course, also be available at Booth No. 44 in the Exhibition Hall.
We look forward to seeing you all in Helsinki in May!!
