Since the formation of wca environment Ltd in 2005, the company has operated out of a single office in southern England. During 2020, with the end of the Brexit transition period looming, the management team explored options for opening a European office.

While such a move would not be necessary to continue providing chemical risk assessment services to clients sited in the EU (many of whom are actually global companies anyway), from 31st Dec 2020 only EU companies would be eligible for the tendering process for European regulatory organisations such as the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

Keen to continue our ongoing successful relationship with ECHA and other European institutions, we considered various options for expanding our company into mainland Europe. Thankfully, the best option presented itself relatively early in the process, and I am delighted to announce that our new subsidiary company wca environment (Ireland) Ltd was incorporated in November 2020. Our Irish subsidiary (www.wca-consulting.ie) is a direct extension of our parent company, and customers of wca will not notice any appreciable difference when working with either the English or Irish parts of the business.

We look forward to a continued successful relationship with all clients in the UK, Europe and beyond.
